Status
Drive lifecycle progression, automation, and audit visibility.
Status
Status measures how far an object has progressed.
Each object moves through a series of stages, and its status shows where it currently sits.
How status works
Every resource has a defined set of stages.
These stages represent the lifecycle of that type of work. For example, a lead might move from Draft, to Contactable, to Researched.
As an object progresses, its status updates to reflect where it is.
Automatic progression
In many cases, status updates automatically as work is completed.
When certain attributes are filled in, the system can move the object forward to the next stage.
For example, if a lead has an email address added, it may move from Draft to Contactable.
This means progress is often tracked without needing to update the status manually.
Manual updates
You can also update the status yourself at any time.
This is especially useful when you want to confirm that something has been reviewed or approved.
For example, you might use AI agents to move a post from Draft, to Researched, to Composed. Once you’ve reviewed it yourself, you could then set the status to Finalised to show it’s ready.
Measuring work
Changes in status are how work is measured.
Each step forward represents progress, making it easy to see how much work has been completed and what still needs attention.
Visual status
Objects are colour-coded based on their status, making it easy to understand their state at a glance:
- Transparent – Draft (not yet started)
- Blue – Ongoing (in progress)
- Green – Good outcome
- Red – Bad outcome
Status history
Changes in status are recorded in the object’s conversation thread.
This means you can see how something has progressed over time, alongside any related discussion.
How to use it well
Status often updates automatically as work progresses, especially when key information is added.
You can step in and update it manually when needed, for example to confirm something is complete or approved.
Keeping status accurate helps you see what’s done, what’s in progress, and what needs attention.
Summary
Status shows how work moves forward.
It tracks progress automatically where possible, and gives you control when needed, helping you keep everything moving in the right direction.
